WHAT IS A LEED NEIGHBOURHOOD

The US Green Building Council has selected Pointe-Nord as a pilot project for green community design called LEED for neighbourhood development (LEED ND). LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, will set the standards for neighborhoods seeking to be more sustainable and ecologically responsible.

LEED ND certification will be granted once all elements of the project are completed. Below are a few examples of the many efforts Proment is making in Pointe-Nord to provide a neighbourhood that will be good for its residents and the environment:

  • Easy access to parks and pedestrian paths.
  • Pedestrian friendly neighbourhood design.
  • Easy access to public transportation.
  • Convenient shopping within walking distance.
  • Underground parking with green roofs.
  • Roof gardens on buildings.
  • Collection of rain water.
  • Recycling initiatives.
  • Healthy construction materials.
  • Bicycle paths connected to a vast network.
  • Proximity to business areas and services.

Ecologically responsible living.
